Shatranj Dhi Chess School is not just a school. It is a social network and community! Currently, Shatranj Dhi has 600+ dedicated K-12 students enrolled in weekly lessons across across Southeast Michigan taught by a team of over 45 instructor-coaches. Learning takes place either at the headquarters in Novi or at satellite locations across Southeast Michigan, including private homes. Whether they take private or group lessons, all students are invited to attend chess club (open play with peers) as well as local, regional and national tournaments.
Shatranj Dhi Chess School was founded in 2017 by Mrs. Priya Ramdas, a passionate advocate for the study of chess , along with her family of chess enthusiasts in Novi, Michigan. Mrs. Priya is currently Michigan’s #1 Female Chess Coach and the school and its students have won several awards for their efforts and achievements over the years. For over eight years she has dedicated herself to spreading the love of chess in the community. Shatranj Dhi operates a network of classes and clubs across Southeast Michigan at locations such as the Troy Bharatiya Temple, Farmington Community Library, and more. Join us today!
