Private Lessons ($35/Lesson)

Our 1:1 in-person chess lessons offer a comprehensive, hour-long session tailored to your child’s unique needs and skill level. Whether they are just starting out or looking to refine their strategy, our expert coaches will guide them through the essentials of chess, including opening moves, middle game tactics, and endgame techniques. We also analyze games to enhance understanding and appreciation of the game, learn to “read and write” chess games (e.g., learn chess notation), and more. Group Classes (Call for pricing)

In our group chess lessons, several highly ranked and skilled coaches work together to teach a group of students, divided by skill level. These coaches are selected not only for their chess expertise but also for their ability to identify each child’s needs and provide puzzles that match their skill levels. The major benefit of group chess lessons is that students learn through coached play with each other. This approach not only builds technical knowledge but also promotes manners and etiquette, including good sportsmanship practices, friendship building, and having fun, while fostering a strong team spirit. Through group play, students get a taste of what tournaments are like and are taught how to prepare themselves for the mental and physical aspects of more competitive chess, offering a dimension of training that is not always possible with 1-on-1 lessons.

Chess for Homeschoolers ($35/Lesson)

Our year-round Chess for Homeschoolers program, consisting of 1:1 in-person classes offered during school hours, combines chess mastery with a broad educational curriculum. Students explore history, geography, reading, writing, math, and art through the lens of chess. Lessons include the history of chess, geography with maps, chessboard strategies, and the movements of each piece. They’ll also learn checkmate patterns, chess tactics, and tournament etiquette. This interdisciplinary approach enhances both chess skills and overall academic development.

Chess Club

Students are invited to join us for Chess Club, held from 4-8 PM on scheduled weekdays, for up to four hours of practice with peers. Coaches are present to match opponents based on skill level and offer teachable moments through gameplay. This is an essential and fantastic opportunity for students to apply knowledge gained from lessons. Chess Club also provides a chance for players to socialize, make friends, and experience various playing styles, all while having fun in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Tournament Coaching

For families looking to participate in tournaments, our coaches offer tournament coaching and provide students with the skills and strategies needed to compete at their best. Beyond training, our dedicated coaches can also chaperone students to tournaments, fostering a strong team spirit and offering support throughout the competition. This comprehensive approach ensures that our students are well-prepared and confident, both on and off the chessboard.

Chess Camps, Special Events, & Seminars

We are happy to both host and attend numerous events throughout the year. During school breaks and during the summers, we host chess camps for K-12 students aligned with the school calendar. For those looking for speakers or organizers, we are happy to work with your school, club, or organization and provide a special seminar, session, or special event that fits your needs.
